Ever feel like your cat’s trying to tell you something with all that meowing? You’re not alone. A chatty cat can be totally normal, but if it feels like they’re talking non-stop, there could be a reason. Some breeds, like Siamese, are naturally more vocal. But sudden changes in how much your cat meows might be their way of getting your attention. They could be hungry, bored, feeling unwell or just wanting snuggles. Cats are clever—they learn that meowing gets a response, especially if it earns them food or fuss. If your cat is meowing at night, they might be trying to play or struggling with the quiet. Try giving them a good play session before bed to wear them out, and make sure they’ve got food, water and a comfy spot to snooze. If the meowing seems out of character or comes with other changes, always have a vet check them over to rule out pain or illness. And remember, some cats are just talkative souls. As long as they’re healthy, it’s usually nothing to worry about. It might even be their way of saying they love being around you.
